I'm actually devastated by this. My first concert was a Linkin Park concert and was where I met my now wife and mother of my child. Random chance but if it wasn't for his music my life would have been very different.
If anyone knows about his history then they also know he'd battled with suicide from an early age and had a pretty screwed up childhood. A lot of Linkin Park's songs are written about those time in his life but in an ambiguous enough way that people can still relate. "Shadow of the Day" takes on a whole new meaning with this in mind.
Killed himself on Chris Cornell's birthday too...
