You definitely don't NEED all those things. This feels like the thing people would say when the Wii came out about having to spend hundreds buying all the controllers and accessories when in reality a wiimote+nunchuck cost $10 more than a standard controller, so it was a grand total of $30 extra in controllers for a cheaper console whose games were also $10 less than the other systems.

The only thing you could maybe say you need is the SD card, the rest of just your own choices to buy extra stuff. Which is fine, but the Switch in no way requires you to buy them to get the full experience.

For my part, I plan on buying probably a 200gb sd card so I can download most of the games I get and I'll be set. Probably won't ever even need to get another set of joycons, but that's cuz i have no friends...womp womp
