At some point people have to realise that there's a clear bias towards movie that are considered art movies.

I agree but not every arthouse movie is overrated. Nolan movies are sometimes overrated and they're blockbusters

But as a general rule of thumb, arthouse movies are overrated. And a lot of blockbusters are overrated but they almost never reach the heights of the scores of art movies.

You'll often find that 1 gimmick that reviewers love is long shots of the character staring into nothingness. Looking at the sea for a whole minute or similar. Or you see a character doing a menial task for up to a minute.
