The wall will do squat.
People will simply go under it like they do now.
Or go over it like they do now.
Or go by the ocean like they do now.
Or blow a hole through it.

All you are doing is wasting your time, money and resources... And for what?

I mean, didn't your wall get downgraded to a fence in areas by trump? I am an Australian... And we are the world leading experts on building fences, we have the longest fence in the world. It doesn't keep out humans. It only keeps out rabbits. Think about that for a moment please.

What the USA needs to do is make it unattractive for illegal migrants.
Put in measures and red tape that makes it difficult for migrants to work in the USA.
Have better border patrols that turn away migrants and drugs.

Work with Mexico to make it more attractive for their citizens to stay in their own country by providing job opportunities (The USA could also profit from that too!) and stamping out corruption/drug cartels.

Building a wall that will do nothing and burying your head in the sand solves nothing. It never has. Never will.

The wall is a symbol and a statement to the world, a wall without the accompanying policy changes would obviously not be very effective in the 21st century as a barrier.  The wall says that Trump cares about the concerns of the people inside his country before anyone else and that he is not afraid of making bold statements when negotiating with Mexico, when supporting and bolstering the border patrol and taking other measurable actions like the ones that you have mentioned above to curb illegal immigration.  Trump has already cut illegal immigration into the States by 40% and that is without having a wall.  For 30 years the US has had loser politicians who have promised the sky to Americans but then not only failed to deliver but actually sold America out to a bunch of multi-national elites who profit from fake wars and who want global control.  For decades, the US government and media have behaved in a spineless, politically correct, and over-appeasing manner when interacting the rest of the world and the wall is a statement of that trend being reversed.

You might think that the wall is a waste of money, but never under-estimate the power of a symbol both to rally the people at home as well as a message to the world at large.

Trump would've stopped the Dakota pipeline, not given the military $500 billion, and wouldn't cut many government agencies if he truly cared about us.

Nice to see that the wall will let people know we're assholes who don't know how to spend our money properly.
