Yup, I'll definitely be buying it.
However, I'm not looking for, or expecting a masterpiece like in TLOU. I don't expect the same level of storytelling, cinematic control, as compelling characters, overall polish, or for it to create as strong an emotional connection. It's an open world zombie game from a studio tackeling a project of this scale for the first time. Not the magnum opus of an industry giant at the top of their game for years.
What I do expect is it to (hopefully) be a lot of fun. I expect it will be cheesy, it will be a little rough around the edges. A bit like a B horror movie. However, I'm optimisitc as the devs have said Sony have given them additoinal leash to fufill their vision on this project and in my eyes that means Sony are happy with how it's shaping up. "Giving us as much time as we need" I think was the quote. I think there's a stage in development where you have to cut your losses and release it, or cancel it. If you're giving them totally free reign (especially from a newly promoted developer) your pretty bullish on it turning out well.
I was pleasantly surprised with what I saw at this years E3, and look forward to seeing more of it.
