No they don't, lol. That's not their job. If they did they simply would never get hired again and one of the millions of people who are waiting to take their spot step up.

Have you seriously worked on any movie? Some photographers and art director have great reputation and can be the difference between a good and a great movie, you think the Director is a God that decides everything but this is not how it woks most of the time, usually is a team work, there are some tyranic directors but that's usually not a great strategy,
