To me no gameseries come even close to the enjoyment and playtime I've gotten from Civilization. I have loved that series ever since I first played Civilization on the Amiga in the early 90-ies (but I have somehow never played Civ II).
Yes there are some poor design decisions and the AI is crappy and only difficult when it is cheating but man I love those games. I've spent 1000:s of hours in the series (whitch is kind of sad when I think about it).
If I would make a list of most played games during my life it would probably look like this:
1. Civilization III
2. Civilization Call to Power
3. Civilization 5
4. Civilization 4
5. Civilization
6. Counter Strike (combined all versions from Beta 2 up to version 1.6)
