I still scratch my head on how this game manages to be successful on Europe

Easy to explain. People like the idea of being farmers, but without the dirt and stench. Harvest Moon is another longrunning IP about life on a farm. In other words, 'Bauer sucht Frau' is not representative of the desire to be a wannabe farmer, but it's representative of the quality of the RTL network.

That I get, the part about farming and such. But with games like Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley is not just about that. There is also the part were you can relation with people, a bit of combat in stardew side, and its all fantasy, so I guess that there is also more there(never played them).

Farming simulator in the other hand, I speculate that there is nothing of the sort, just the part of the management of the farm(dont know for certain since I never played it).And being a simulator, it tries to be as realistic as possible, so it isnt as straightfoward as I think the other games are.

Well, I dont know.Since Im not much of a fan of those types of games, it could be that I just dont understand the appeal. But a farming simulator to me sounds so boring.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
