Gonna see it tomorrow. Should be good fun, I hope.

Your review doesn't match your score. Just saying. It's like the inverse of an IGN game review where almost everything they say is negative and then they score it a 9 or something. You're singing this movie's praises pretty much top to bottom....nailed Spider-Man, nailed the villain, hilariously funny, good action, clever plot/writing, didn't overreach with some world ending threat, etc, etc....oh but the best friend wasn't that funny, and the little romance was a bit meh, so 7.5/10.

Not saying 7.5 isn't good or anything, but what you wrote up there doesn't equate a 7.5

Thank you for reading it :) And I hope you enjoy the movie!

About the scoring: for me, a 7 or 7.5 is "good." Spider-Man: Homecoming is a good movie. It gives you everything you want: smart writing, good characterization, effective story-telling, etc.

8, 9, and 10 is "great" or "near-great." Great movies, to quote one of my favorite YouTubers, gives you everything you want and more. Superhero flicks that fall into that category include Captain America: The Winter Soldier, The Dark Knight, and Spider-Man 2. They deliver all the goods, plus a lot more. They manage to transcend the limitations/boundaries of the genre.

Homecoming is ever so close to an 8. Maybe after a second viewing I'll round it up. But I can't imagine it getting a bump bigger than .5 points.

Anyway, thank you again for reading.
