Single player focused 3d platformer for the love of Christ. They should just go all out and make something with a good mix of both linear and wide open levels 

The single player in Splatoon has a good variety of platforming in its own way. If they can use the ink mechanic in 3D platforming more akin to Mario or Kirby or Donkey Kong, that would be interesting.
