I woukd say that's fair. I think it just comes down to the game though, Splatoon isn't shooting to be a technical masterpiece. The final builds of Mario Odyssey, Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and Sonic Forces will be more interesting comparison points both to the Wii U and surrounding counterparts in the wider game industry.
