So how many Switches have been sold at this point, something like 4 million? The wii u was about 3.5 million in the first 3 months. It doesn't seem like a world of difference at this point in actual ownership of the console even if the wii u had retailers saturated with consoles and the Switch has customers waiting for their console. I thought optimistically we might have seen up to 6 million at this point and then a downturn as Nintendo had satisfied their main fanbase. It still seems like millions more are needed just to get to that point.

Seems like the stock situation in uk is back to being partially stocked with many Argos stores having neon Switches and a few online retailers with non scalper prices.

according to this site, Switch is at 4.1 million in 3 months while Wii U was closer to 2.5 million and didnt hit 4 million until it was on the market for a full year.

According to the wiki page

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wii_U

The wii u was over 3 million by the end of 2012 and close to 3.5 million at the end of March. However that was the start of the cliff edge where sales dropped considerably.  On the wiki page it says shipped but in the comments on the wiki page it says 3.5 million sold in the first 3 months of 2013.  It seems like in reality there was about half a million difference. Of course the Switch may not have the big slowdown of the wii u or that slowdown may come after a more significant number of units has sold.
