Agreed for a good chunk of sonys library, but the chunk of Sonys library that is exclusive is still more exclusive and a selling point compared to Microsoft. There is little to no exclusivity between Xbox and PC now save for Halo. Once Halo is gone, its done. They arent close in that respect. if Nintendo had third party support the narrative that you hold for Sony would it remain true for them as well. The core exclusives for the Japanese brands are not multiplatform. This is where Microsoft becomes the anomaly.

Once your exclusivity is gone so is your indentity. Your console is just an optional vessel for the games that pass through. As I alluded to before, this is what the steam box was going to be. Without exclusives consoles gamers want and an affordable price, it had no chance against the other consoles.

If exclusives are lost to its competitor than i will agree. However its not. PC isnt a competitor to Xbox. Its an alliance. Xbox is always the home to Halo, Forza and all of Xbox 1st party games. You can always garentee the next big Xbox IP will be on Xbox. There is no garentee they will be on PC. Where MS is smart is because there are PC gamers that dont buy consoles. Thats a huge market in itself.

Xbox no longer is a 1 off console lost in the ages. Its a eco system like Steam which will be around for ever.

Like i stated before. The Gaming community needs to accept that Win10/Xbox is the same thing. Xbox will always be Xbox. You cannot play Crackdown 3 on Nintendo or Sony platforms.

Also you still avoid the fact Halo 1 and 2 were available on PCs for a long time. How did that affect the Xbox brand? Hmm it didnt.

PC is a competitor to no one which is why they are never in the argument. PC is neutral ground. Thanks to valve and blizzard for keeping PC strong. I know I said this earlier but I stopped PC gaming when I was younger because of the Xbox. I was a couch co op and LAN party gamer when i was pretty young.

as for halo 1 and 2 being on PC, I never denied its validity. That would be attached to the part of my argument to Microsofts endgame which was always to fuse PC and consoles through paid online for live.Once  the Xbox came out PC became a non factor for me because I just preferred console gaming at that point and Microsoft gave me all the PC games I wanted on my couch. That's when I fell in love with bioware. I think their failed venture with windows live on PC put the brunt of the bill on console gamers though. The plan is still unfolding... I know it has little to do with games and more to do with being everything to everyone..
