It's not just people being mad that the games can be played on pc

Which is silly because the alternative, the game not being playable on PC AT ALL, is worse.

it's the sheer number of exclusives that is flat out underwhelming AND the few that are available are not really exclusives.

A game is a game regardless of whether or not it's exclusive.

That's backwards logic at it's best right there. Exclusives are the main reason why gamers choose one platform over the other. That's a fact.

When you say that, I think back to how some of the best-selling titles on 360 and PS3 were the same games. I also think of the exclusive games on the WiiU and yet the WiiU sold poorly.

MS has likely lost interest in competing in the console gaming market. The only reason why MS would put it's xbox (devaluing the console) exclusives on win 10 is to incentivise people into getting win 10/using windows store to compete with steam. It's not a benefit at all for consumers because games bought from windows store can't be modded. PC gamers won't touch windows store because of that. /thread

Be that as it may, the alternative, X1 games not being playable on PC AT ALL, is worse.

Again, exclusive games are the most important aspect of what distinguishes each console from eachother because well... the point of consoles is to play video games. Desirable exclusive games are a major draw of gamers. Third party games help fill in the gaps between exclusives and they add further to a console's library but they are not the true draw to one particular console over another when they can play the same 3rd party games. The wii u's exclusive offerings sucked donkey balls and it sales reflected that. It's games and marketing were too focused on the smallest demographic of gamers. Having exclusives just for the sake of having them doesn't count for much with gamers.

That last point of yours is just bonkers. How is "X1 games not being playable on PC AT ALL, is worse" when xbox fans can just play the games on the X1 and pc gamers won't touch the games on win 10 because they can't be modded? It defeats the point of the feature to consumers.

Who really cares if X1 games are playable on win 10 or not. MS is only putting xbox exclusives on win 10 to draw more ppl to using windows store on win 10. It's in vain though because the consumers they're trying to convince are knowledgeable on this stuff.
