The point of PS4+PC is it has the best spread of available titles for home platforms. Yes, there are a number of games on PS4 that are also on PC, but there is a much larger number of games exclusively on PS4 than there are on Xbox One. It becomes a matter of "Is Halo 5 really worth more than Uncharted 4, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Bloodborne, NioH, inFAMOUS Second Son, and The Last Guardian combined?"

A PC + a platform with 20 worthwhile exclusives is better than a PC + a platform with 3 worthwhile exclusives.

As a side note, though, PC/PS4 still needs the added bonus of a 3DS to get the absolute best coverage on games.

I think you are missing the point. It doesn't matter how much more exclusives there are on Playstation 4 verses the Xbox One.
It still shares the bulk of it's Library with the PC.

So if you *truly* wish to have the best "spread" of available titles... (Your words, not mine.)

Then you need:
PC+Nintendo.
Sony+Nintendo.
Or.
Microsoft+Nintendo.

It doesn't make sense to have PC+Xbox or PC+Playstation if "spread" is your main issue.
Regardless. You could just get them all. Brand loyalty is bullshit anyway.

That isn't to say Sony doesn't have a ton of exclusives, it has some of the best exclusives this generation, but the majority of it's library is on PC, because the majority of it's library is multiplats.
It's less of an issue for Sony than Microsoft though, thus Microsoft deserves the criticism it gets.

I could live without both the Xbox and Playstation rather easily. I choose not to because... I like games.

I'm not talking about brands, I'm talking about specific platforms. You seem to be reading into a point I didn't make.
