Civ games aren't too demanding. You probably just need to make sure you have at least 8 GB ram for 5 or 6. I did notice that on basic computers sometimes the wait time between turns (especially if you have a huge map with a shitload of AI) would be long when playing 3 back in the day. So any decent spec laptop or desktop should be able to at least run Civ 5.
Civ 6 actually only has 4 GB RAM as min but you'd probably want 8 or you will be waiting longer between turns.
Civ 6 specs
MINIMUM: OS: Windows 7x64 / Windows 8.1x64 / Windows 10x64 Processor: Intel Core i3 2.5 Ghz or AMD Phenom II 2.6 Ghz or greater Memory: 4 GB RAM Graphics: 1 GB & AMD 5570 or nVidia 450 DirectX: Version 11 Storage: 12 GB available space Sound Card: DirectX Compatible Sound Device
RECOMMENDED: OS: Windows 7x64 / Windows 8.1x64 / Windows 10x64 Processor: Fourth Generation Intel Core i5 2.5 Ghz or AMD FX8350 4.0 Ghz or greater Memory: 8 GB RAM Graphics: 2GB & AMD 7970 or nVidia 770 or greater DirectX: Version 11 Storage: 12 GB available space Sound Card: DirectX Compatible Sound Device

Yeah Civ games aren't bad. You really don't need a gaming PC for it. My laptop which was the cheapest one the store had can even run Civ 5. It's so slow that it's not particularly enjoyable, but still if you've got even a half decent computer it should run it without any problems.

I ran a compatibility test. I don't have enough dedicated video RAM, apparently. I don't have enough for Civ 5 either. Civ 6 requires 1gb, Civ 5 wants 256. I have only 128mb dedicated, and 3gb dynamic.
For what its worth, I have 16gb of system RAM.
