I played it on PS4 Pro, it uses an unlocked framerate, hitting 60 almost never and it sometimes dropped below 30. I believe it's locked to 30 on the orginal PS4.

There's clear reasons for the bad frame-rate, for example the games map is literally just a camera looking at the entire open-world, you can zoom into the mountain and see other players. The advanced snow deformation that accurately reacts to player animations won't help either.

I don't know if I'd say it's badly optimized for what it's doing, just that what it's trying to do was difficult for the Jaguar CPU, much less the Switch.
