But... if you think the Xbox one brand will continue into the new console in 2020 do you think that the original X1 model (the version that has things like call of duty ghosts running at 720p) will still be capable of playing some version of the 2020 and beyond software so you would have

 

I said in another post in this thread that I expect in 2020, it won't be mandatory for games to be playable on Xbox One S. 

The new console doesn't have to keep the One name as well. The only connection with One brand is that it has to share the game library with One X for the first few yeara and be 100% BC.
