From memory the XB1S is doing pretty well. The X1X is for those wanting to also game in 4k while still supplying the 4k features. 

You could buy a $500 4k Blu Ray player to compliment your new 4k TV or you could buy a X1X that can play 4k movies, games and acts as your TV box for less than $500.

Thats the value of the X1X. 

You can already find new 4K Blu-ray players for under $200 lol... Best Buy has one for 180$. More specifically the Samsung UBD-K8500.
