I would actually like to know what kind of negative reception is out there for Mario Odyssey, especially those who have had hands on experience. That would be an interesting read.

This is my personal opinion, but I'm slightly skeptical about this game, as a person who has recently played Sunshine.

I was watching a few playthroughs of this game, and I was disappointed with the fact that half of the moons in New Donk City could be obtained by just talking to NPC's. In terms of platforming, New Donk City feels ostentatious and purposeless, but we'll have to see if that's really the case when the game comes out. Not that the stage shouldn't be in the game (I believe the realistic complaints are frivolous) but I'm hoping the stage isn't meant to be a main one in the game;hopefully just a friendly area to roam in.

I believe the game will be better than Sunshine, though, provided there are many levels in the game, and each with much to do in them that are unique. I don't want this game to just be purposelessly huge for the sake of being huge. People were rolling fast in an empty space in the Sand Kingdom just to get to a certain moon. For a platformer I wish there was more platforming involved.
