I've been thinking about this a lot lately.

I have a PS4 Pro. But, that was my first PS4. I felt like if I'm gonna get one, I should get the best one. As for Xbone, I've had mine since around launch. Considering that I have the PS4 Pro that I can use for multiplats, I'm finding it difficult to justify an upgrade to X1X. There's also the Switch. I don't own one yet, but will probably buy one within the next 6 months.

I see no problem at all with these upgrades being made available. In fact, I think it is a good idea for the industry. If they can stretch the generations out even longer, I think that's good for gamers. It gives us more choice. We can buy one system that will play all of the new games for 10+ years, or we can upgrade once in a while and play those games with a bit more polish. Its up to us, rather than the hardware companies. The only questions are whether or not it makes sense for me (or you, or whoever) to upgrade, and, if so, at what point to do so. That's a bit of dilemma, maybe. But, that's the best kind of "problem" to have.
