Even if you factor in time to port it across to Switch, it should have been done by now. Even their first HD game only took them 3 years to make. The longest they have ever gone between releasing a game and announcing the next one is less than 3 years.

Yes, and maybe is done buy now, but Nintendo chose not to showed it yet because it's probably holiday 2018. game and they want to show it later. Also development of 2D game is not same like for instance development of big new 3D IP.
