Hello there,

In these great days of inceased competition and product saturation, we (mostly)  find ourselves) in a predicament when companies try to renew their initial products within the generation. These are great and far be it from me to say it is useless but at some point the competition takes a toll. Before I delve further into this, let me just give you my reasoning for my state of mind. The problem is in itself....product saturation and the high level of competition which leads to massive sales and created a huge backlogue.  I, my friends, do not have a bottomless wallet like many here. I realized my limit after I realized that owning all three consoles was within my budget for this gen. Its not like I am strapped for cash, but I do have a life and other things do matter.

Back to the point.....

With the amount of money that I have spent this gen, it seems rather rational to me that I shouldn't invest in  4k UHD HDR capable television so soon. This has made my former will  for upgrading to the Pro and Xbox One X come to a screeching halt. The actual costs of upgrading (all tech or even one and a proper tv) could cost me almost the amount of I spent on all three platforms combined at launch (or more depending on the tv).

In the end, we all now know that next gen will be the true 4k gen. Within the next three to four years the amount of 4k adopters will most likely have increased by 20-30% in America. The more the mass market invests the easier it will be for us to buy 4k TV's with HDR. These upgrades with the new console gens coming will only last us a couple of years before we upgrade again.....so even then it fails to inspire a purchase from me.

With that said.....how does everyone feel about upgrading this gen? It doesn't matter whether you do or do not.
