the state of fighting games in Japan is shocking. Back in the day games like Virtua Fighter, Tekken and street fighter were good for several hundred thousand week 1. They were also very popular in arcades on top of that. Now these games are selling 60k max, usually less. Arms probably could only get 100k by doing something different and reaching a larger audience.
