They had to compensate power for this and even exclude a game (who buys 1,2 Switch separate for $50 lol) from the console to make it affordable. Instead of the Tegra X1 they could've chosen the Tegra X2 which would make Switch closer to Xbox One in terms of power. |
Except the components in HD rumble are pretty common. Also, even if they shaved $20 off each JoyCon, that wouldn't be nearly enough to free up enough for the X2 and still launch at 299. The X2 is not affordable right now.
