I meant in terms of supporting it rather than buying it, buying means we'd have a whole lot of mess to deal with.
Imagine if we all pitched in to buy out VGC, who would be in charge, how would you go about splitting site ownership among many on here that were to pitch in to the buyout?. It honestly sounds like a complciated mess that could turn ugly within a matter of weeks/months if you ask me. Patreon allows to pitch in for site funding, which in turn could go towards site improvements or hiring a person to redesign the site (since we perma'd the last site designer). |
Yes but patreon to support the site won't work as long as ioi is in charge. ioi doesn't give a jack shit about us unfortunately, which is sort of a prerequisite for Patreon to work.
Buy the nature of a kickstarter, even though everyone put some money into it, that doesn't mean everyone gets ownership. Even though you help kickstart a game, that doesn't mean you are entitled to some ownership of the team developing the game, you only get a copy of the game. One person, or a small team of people would have to be in charge, and it would have to be a paid position, using the money VGC makes.
But before one could really say anything about how much VGC could be worth, you'd have to see some financial data and webpage analytics.
