I'd say that categorizing using defined terms that don't align with your point makes said point difficult to convey, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. 

The rest of your post is strange to me. Harem comedies aside (I certainly disagree about Nisekoi, but I'm aware of the genre cliches) most romance manga I've read have spent at least some time developing the main romances, shounen, shoujo, etc included. Are you implying that only seinen and josei handle this well, or is this a generalization of the entire medium? I strongly disagree either way...but I'd like to better understand if there's a reason you feel this way.
