I was disappointed I watched the video after he pointed out the fading people. I'd legitimately never noticed in all the footage I've watched, but now I always notice lol

Hopefully I keep being blind and don't start looking for it lol. The methods they're using to reduce GPU load are quite clever though, especially in handheld mode.
