Now why would Nintendo release a powerful console that compete's directly with the PS4 and XB1? It could be the most powerful console of all times and 3rd parties would still be as skeptical as possible and instead of power they'll complain about the userbase not being up to their liking and not support it a la Wii U. Them making the Switch a portable home console in a way was the best route they could go as its unique and different enough to even attract a sizeable amount of non-Nintendo fans.
