I actually do think they will keep supporting 3DS indefinitely for the time being. The reason being because, as Reggie said, even though Switch is portable the games are made with a home console mindset. They are home console games. I don't think that Nintendo wants to just abandon that handheld style of video game, and I'm sure a lot of people would miss it if they did. I know I would.
