At the moment not a single Switch in any Argos store where as normally there is hundreds spread about across the country. It seems to be doing very well although you wouldn't know it going into a game store they have provided very little space for Switch and no demo units for people to try in the stores around my local area (south west england). http://www.stockinformer.co.uk/checker-nintendo-switch On face value it looks like Mario Kart has been a huge motivation for people to buy the console rivalling the launch itself in the uk. Mario Odyssey looks carefully timed to make a huge impact for Christmas. However with expected Playstation price cuts and Xbox One X launching Christmas in the UK is a three horse race which I expect Playstation to win. It wouldn't surprise me if the Xbox one is widely available sub £200 even close to £150 in the Christmas selling period and the Switch is still a relatively low performance platform at a fairly high retail price. I think the Switch will sit between Xbox and Playstation. If the Switch does have a price cut and/or bundled game I think it could get pretty close to ps4. |
Supply was becoming better until Mario Kart released, joycons are hard to come by now too. Had to buy a grey L and R separately due to no neons or pairs being available. Suprising given the stock situation and the system already coming with 2 controllers.
The only thing stopping Switch beating PS4 over Christmas is supply.
