Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems the majority of main line games are on home consoles. So why would MHW be a spinoff just because it's on home consoles? Especially since Capcom confirmed that it's a main entry to the franchise.
I'm sure there will be another main line MH on the Switch but I doubt it will be exclusive to it and will also release on home consoles.
