I'm  also looking to build my first PC. My budget is $600-800, but a little wiggle room is available. I've done some research and this is my tentative build. I think everything I've picked is compatible but I wanted to get some feedback anyway in case there were any issues I wasn't aware of.

AMD Ryzen 5 1600

MSI Ryzen B350 ATX Motherboard (CPU + MB bundle = $275 after $30 bundle promo)

EVGA GXT 1060 Single Fan $250

Ballistix DDR4 1 x 8GB DDR4 $60 - I plan on adding another later.

WD 1TB 7200 HDD  $50

Corsair Carbide Spec Case $60

EVGA 430W Power Supply $32

Total before tax: $727

I also have a 500GB SSD from my laptop that I was planning on moving to the desktop, so I would only need an adapter instead of buying a new SSD. Also, I'm pretty much just going for a 1080p build, maybe 2K if i feel like getting such a monitor. But I'm not really interested in 4K so I don't need that.

Let me know what you all think and if you have any suggestions. I've never built a computer so this is new territory for me, and any feedback is welcome.
