Not to spin this off-topic but how many people supporting this Ubi boycott shop at Wal-Mart?

Just curious. Because if you do, get yer friggin' priorities in line.

You want a company worth boycotting? Look no further than the one owned by our *least* favorite Walton family.

The boycott is also an image thing, as well as a money thing. A boycott would need to be pretty large to hurt wal-mart, but the store has long had an image problem already.

Ubisoft may be large, but a reputation for cheapness and a lack of concern for quality would hurt a game developer more than a long-entrenched store chain. Again, EA wasn't above trouble with the way they treated their employees, and I think they had to settle a suit about it.

So Ubisoft cannot be above somethig that would hurt their reputation. A boycott, even if it doesn't cost them much money, would be bad publicity.

So even though Wal-Mart manipulates the social welfare system, underpays employees, union-busts like crazy, strongarms manufacturers, sells lead paint-ridden products to children, and is a downright despicable company through and through, their size is what keeps you shopping there. No boycott for evil bastards if they're too large in size, I guess.

On the other hand, Ubisoft is adopting a strategy (non-harmful, mind you) that you don't like and you're up in arms over it, supporting a boycott.

*shakes head in disbelief*

No wonder this world is so fucked up.
