Because it still sells and if you have some development funds that aren't enough for a Switch game why not make money with the 3DS?

Really though? Although I can't complain about the Switch Library so far, it's gotten to a point where I feel Nintendo is clearly afraid of making the Switch its primary portable system. The 3DS is at the end of its lifecycle but Nintendo is making it a competitor to the Switch.

Make this game 1080p, and add some additional textures while you're at it, and you have a Switch M&L RPG for mid 2018.
