Who cares? EA doesn't make good games. You might as well ask why HBO isn't airing reruns of Honey Boo Boo. EA's shovelware is the last thing Nintendo needs right now. Shovelware hurts brand image. How many people do you know that bought a Wii, a few shovelware titles, and then flat out stopped buying Nintendo games? There's an entire generation of casuals that see Nintendo as a trash tier console developer, because that's the impression the Wii's shovelware gave them.

While they have some crappy politics, they own a lot of good franchies and their game sell a lot. Your opinion is exactly the example of "forum people", that always believe that their more niche tastes reflect the general public.

A lot of people care for EA games. Battlefront sold 8M copies, Fifa does 15M easily, Battlefield also reaches these numbers. Add Need for Speed, Mass Effect and it's clear they have a lot of important franchises. If you look at the games on your sig (BOTW, Horizon, Nioh, Persona), basically none of them has a shot at selling like Fifa (and it does it in a single freaking year). I myself think that those games are much better than Fifa and BF, but they actually have a much broader appeal to a larger public.

I wouldn't classify most EA games as shovelware. Shovelware is a quickly made game with very few value and low complexity to appeal a casual public. Like Candy Crush. BF is a competent online shooter, Fifa is a good footbal simulator with fun MP, NFS is normally the best open world racing game. Things like 1-2-Switch (made by Nintendo itself) fits the shovelware classification way better than these games.

With the Wii U, EA did a competent version of NFS Most Wanted (best console version, actually). Their support died because games weren't selling. Fifa for Switch looks actually pretty good and the dual Joy Con MP on-the-go could actually move a lot of units in EU.
