No. The custom CPU can apparently do the same tasks with significantly less overhead and its clocked higher. The RAM is significantly faster and adds an additional 4 GB for games to access. The GPU is disparity is about 4.5x for Scropio and about 2.5x for Switch docked.

Scorpio is a huge upgrade and it may not always have to share games with OG Xbox. It should be able to support 9th gen games even if OG X1 can't.

Scorpio/PS Pro will just be like Xbox 360 and PS3 when the PS5/Next gen Xbox launches. Supported for the first few years and watch as publishers pull away as userbases/consumers moves away from last gen consoles. Happens all the time.

Scorpio is a huge upgrade for console only gamers though lets not get too overboard.. OG XB1 is still the base platform, and those Jaguar cores are only going to get longer in the tooth. These mid gen consoles are base level for 4K gaming (for 8th gen), which is fine because that's where the standard is at right now.

It seems like the biggest obstacle in the future for Scorpio support is the CPU, but I think people under estimate the CPU and all games aren't extremely CPU taxing.

So unless all 9th gen games become extremely CPU taxing, Scorpio is going to be easy to support longer. Especially if 9th gen hardware is running on the same architecture.
