If Nintendo aspires to completely lose E3, yeah. The Mario franchise has become oversaturated. None of those three are system sellers, either. Switch owners want variety. Mario Party has degraded into shit, and well...frankly a VC announcement that supports older Mario Party games would be more hype. 2D Mario is derivative, a Mario Maker port is welcomed, however. As for an SMRPG remake: Square won't allow it.
At least for me. If that was announced at E3, I'd probably cancel my intentions of buying a Switch in the holiday. I'm not buying this system to only play Mario games <_<
