Let's not sell Super Mario Odyssey short here. Mario is still Mario, the most recognizable figure in the gaming industry and one of the most recognizable beyond gaming. Odyssey is a return to the sandbox style of 64 and Sunshine. 3D Mario, and mainline Mario in general, has garnered critical praise. It's reveal at the Switch presentation has more YouTube views than Zelda BoTW's story and E3 2016 trailer.
