Yep, I will unapologetically profess my love of all things retro-gaming.  Sure, I was born in the early 80s, and spent my adolescent years in the 90s, but for me it has less to do with nostalgia (though I won't deny that it definitely factors in) and more to do with my dislike of the direction of many aspects of the current mainstream gaming industry. Things are ruled by big publishers who want sure fire hits.  And that means an overabundance of shooters, story-based action games, and open world action/RPGs.  These things are fine on their own, but not when many other genres get left behind in the quest for those blockbuster game sales.

That's why I'm glad that smaller, more retro, games are able to find their modest level of success without having the expectation of millions and millions of sales just to stay alive.  These games resembling games I grew up on, is just a huge bonus.
