Little work based on what evidence? If it was so easy publishers would be flocking the service to get themselves an easy cash revenue. But they aren't. It was a streaming service for PS3 and non gaming devices too. I didn't realise that playing a PS3 game on my PS3 constitued backwards compatability. Incredible. And streaming PS3 games on my bravia or bluray player meant I had BC too on non gaming devices? wow... Sony have never called or marketted PSNow as BC. You are free to prove me wrong. Your link clearly states its a 'cloud-based streaming service`. Shuhei clearly doesnt call it BC when asked about it and Sony have not cared about BC as far back as 2015. http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/playstation-on-xbox-backwards-compatibility-it-s-good-we-re-doing-different-things/0151317 And nothing to misunderstand: you have zero evidence that millions of ppl likely use the 360 emulator. And you misunderstand again, Gaikai not only powers PSNow, its used for share play features as well as remote play. and its gotten games consistely released every month since at least June last year. Software support is clearly the mark of a failed service. |
I suspect publishers aren't very interested in PS2 BC because demand isn't great, but it does have about 50 games. People really wanted PS3 BC and for what its worth PS Now has solid software support.
People asked about BC and Sony's answer is officially PS Now. So hey, you can argue with me but that's their answer.
Again, the official Sony website uses PS Now as their solution to BC. You can argue its not BC, but its their solution to BC.
Rare Replay is a lot of BC content and it sold quite well. Many X1 users have 360 content already. Furthermore, X1 users with Gold are getting free 360 games that work on X1. So hey, the math says million are likely using the service even if its not for many hours.
So you think publishers allowing their games on PS Now means success? Oh, I doubt that. Given the many changes that has occured it looks like Sony is struggling to get PS Now off the ground. It only supports PS4 and PC now by the way.
