If you read the thread, most Ninty fans said the game has to be at least ten years old for the remaster to make sense. I find that pretty sad, as that argument was thrown out of the window the second NInty started doing the same.

The main difference is that TLOU: R didn't add any new content, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Pokkén Tournament DX do add new stuff, even if we ignore the added benefit of portability. 

You'd have a point if that was the problem that people mentioned to bash The Last of Us:R. It wasn't. It was repeatedly that when Ninty does it, the games are old, at least a decade old, and not from last generation. You can come up with all sorts of excuses. It doesn't change that that was the argument they used.
