| monocle_layton said: Today is (in my opinion) the most important game of the series. Will the Cavs lose and put themselves in a 3-0 hole, or will they make it 2-1 to try to tie it in game 4? The X-factor of today's game is the Cav's defense and their role players. With J.R Smith, Kyle Korver, and others struggling, it isn't surprising to see them not lighting a match. The defense must also be fixed- allowing 113 and 132 points is not the way you win the finals. I'm predicting this game will be closer (I hope so), with Golden State winning 117-109. It will stay close overall until either KD or Curry close it in the final minutes. Important Finals headlines: Tyronn Lue will not make any significant changes to the lineup. J.R Smith will still stay as a starter http://www.nba.com/article/2017/06/06/tyronn-lue-says-jr-smith-will-start-game-3 Viewership is the highest we have seen in a finals series since Jordan faced the Jazz in '98. Jordan's legendary series averaged 23 million viewers, while the current series is at 20 million. http://www.nba.com/article/2017/06/05/nba-finals-ratings-most-watched-jordan-1998 Kerr will coach for rest of finals http://www.nba.com/article/2017/06/04/steve-kerr-return-coach-game-two-against-cleveland-cavaliers LeBron has tied Magic Johnson for most triple doubles in finals history |
1. Fixed.
I expect the Cavs to take Game 3 tomorrow. Being back home, I think, will be the spark plug and energizer they need, ESPECIALLY the bench players. JR Smith and Kyle Korver will find their shot. Tristan Thompson will crash the boards with a vengeance. Kyrie will make up for is subpar Game 2, and LeBron will be LeBron.
The Warriors cannot afford to make even half the mistakes they made in Game 2, not when playing in Cleveland. They have to take much better care of the ball, especially Steph, those 20 turnovers CANNOT happen again if they plan on winning in Cleveland. Klay has to build off his Game 2 performance as well, he finally found his shot, this would be a terrible time for him to suddenly go cold again, because the Warriors will need him, along with Steph and K.D. to be on their A game offensively for them to be able to win Game 3.
Overall, the Cavs will have to be damn near perfect and the Warriors have to be almost as sloppy as they were in Game 2 for them to have a chance in this game. But being back home I think will give them that edge they need.
