I'd assume he meant Arab or (other) middle eastern, so as to include north African Arabs as well and not have to have Arab/middle eastern as two separate categories. Especially since OP himself has non-Arab middle eastern ancestry too.

I thought when ppl said Arab they refer it to Middle East Country (Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, etc) and not counting North African country (Egypt, Libya, etc.)
