I don't think they will announce anything on it at E3.  ARMS is the fighting game they want people to focus on during that week.  Smash does not need an introduction.  It has a huge following and will sell like crazy.  Sure a little hype would be nice, but it doesn't need the huge pre-announcement window that ARMS has had.  I could easily see them announcing it in September and then releasing a deluxe version of the Wii U title in November or adding a few more features and saving it for next May, similar to Mario Kart's release this year.  That way it will help them push through the summer months and won't compete against the other big fall titles and further hype an already exceedingly hyped console.  Switch does not need any Smash Brothers help right now.  Sure we all want it and it needs it eventually, but it is doing fine at the moment.  We'll see though.

Yeah, I probably should've said this year instead of E3 as it's possible we could see the game in a Direct later in the year. But my main point still stands though, if we have no Smash info this year it'll likely be a new game (Because if they took too long to show Smash and it ended up being just a port, people would be mad). I also agree about Smash overshadowing ARMS if it was shown at E3 because even though they play completely different, they're still both fighting games.

I agree too.  They will have to make some decent changes or additions.  I still think the core game will be the Wii U version, but maybe with added story mode, more level editing, characters, stages.  Maybe even a complete and official combining of all the past smash brothers titles.  That would be very nice.

If they have planned to add too many things though, they more likely will opt for a release next year.  Sakurai has been getting more and more tired of doing Smash Bros. titles from what I hear as well, so a completely new title might be a bit much.

And for the OP, going off of a game that combines all the past Smash titles, how about, "Super Smash Bros. Eternal"
