Hmm, I know a woman that's 5'8, and she's the tallest woman I've ever known personally.  My experince may be scewed but are there that many women over 5'8 in flats?  

As for the top shelf, if I never hear "I need your height" again, I'll die happy.

I'm not sure where you live, I know several women who are 6'0 or taller. We grow em tall in the USA. Being 5'10 for a women here is not unsual at all.
