I can definitely understand where you are coming from, but hopefully there's an "aha" moment with this successful film that Warner/DC will take something away from.

I hope so too. I love DC more than Marvel, so I hope Warner Bros. can pull it together. Disney is eating their lunch right now.

Why not take a page from the DCAU? Bruce Timm and company managed to make some awesome TV episodes and movies in the DC universe by honoring the source material, casting well, and developing their characters.

I'd love to see that happen! The DCAU is definitely THE place to go for DC. The fact season 3 of Young Justice is coming brings me no end of joy. As far as the live action movies even the Nolan Batmans had the issue of having too big of a cast to really flesh them all out (not to mention a theme that is pretty much thrown out the window with the whole I don't kill but the only way the major threats of the films get resolved is when he arms other people to kill his villains for him, and a really weak third act following Batman Begins, and The Dark Knight).
