Shuhei Yoshida said something a while ago about Sony's ultimate goal to turn Playstation into a service. Switch's success could persuade them to go portable instead or make a new infrastructure that encompasses both ideas somehow. Consoles wont be necessary in the future. Powerful dedicated handhelds and pc are naturally inheriting their strengths. I think ps5 will be the last traditional home console. Not because it'll be a failure.. but because the alternative is potentially even more profitable to Sony. |
I have no words lol. Psn is already a service with ps now, PS plus and ps Vue. Ps4 will outsell Switch lifetime and make Sony more money then any other previous console. You can bet on one thing and that's a ps5 being a traditional home console. If they wanted a switch competitor they'd release a Vita 2 alongside the ps5.

Switch didnt kill them. They were already dead |
Looks like we'll need to keep reminding people this or eventually people will start to believe it.
