Nice strawman. You can still invest in new technologies while saving the jobs and money from a shit deal.

Invest in what? This adminstration does not believe that Climate change is real, period. That's their position. They do not believe in any regulations for the environment.

This isn't a "oh yeah, we're going to invest in renewables".

And I'm sorry but why does Joe Dumbfuck in Kansas get to potentially put the world in peril, just so he can have a job? Maybe he should learn to be in an industry that isn't reliant on fossil fuels. Do you feel sorry for people who used to work at Blockbuster Video who got let go because technology changed and now people watch movies on Netflix?

Boo fucking hoo. That's also capitalism, industries change with time, some go out of business after being eclipsed by new/better technology. You're not entitled to work in a coal plant from now until the 2050s just because you can't do anything else (or don't want to)

Did you watch his speech? Stop making up strawmans. We can use our natural resources while everyone is developing new technology. You don't have to sacrifice one thing for the other. We don't need to kill alot of jobs to reach and accomplish clean energy. Companies from around the world are researching clean energy technologies and space travel. All the US needs to do is keep reducing it's negative effect on the envirnoment to an acceptable level while letting US companies innovate. If the rest of the world wasn't do anything in terms of researching new tech then yes the US should invest heavily in incentivizing  companies into researching clean energy that can meet the demands of the world but that's not the case. Companies are already researching it, though.
