Yep. From the article: "The Wii's lead against the PS3 was 4 to 1 in April and 5 to 1 in May."
In other words, the Wii's proportional lead has been growing month over month, not shrinking. This isn't just a case where the Wii has a lead that is stable: it has a lead that is growing. If the PS3 were ever to make up any ground, the first thing it would have to do is stop falling farther and farther behind before it could worry about actually decreasing that sales ratio.
In short, the goal for Sony shouldn't be to suddenly outsell the Wii in Japan -- it should be to stop the Wii's snowball from growing any bigger.
